Font de Santa Anna

Dating from 1356, this Gothic fountain is regarded as the oldest in Barcelona. It was part of the network of water points created shortly after the city began receiving water channelled from the Collserola mines. Its octagonal shaft is accompanied by a horse trough that still stands beside it. The most significant overhaul took place in 1819, which gave the fountain its current appearance. In 1918, finial vases and five noucentista ceramic panels designed by Josep Aragay and produced with ceramicist Francesc Quer were added.
