Dating from the late 19th century with subsequent alterations, this building illustrates how Barcelona's Eclecticism organised its facades into hierarchical registers. On the ground floor, two stone portals with carpanell arches. The piano nobile asserts its rank with a continuous running balcony and a Baroque-inspired niche at its centre, an ornament recalling that the Passeig del Born was long a prestigious address in Barcelona. The upper storeys are treated with individual balconies framed in stone and sgraffito decoration. The most remarkable feature is at the top: a gallery of semicircular arches crowned by a very prominent overhanging eave gives the building its distinctive silhouette, characteristic of Barcelona's turn-of-the-century apartment buildings.
