Font de la Granota

Inaugurated in 1912, this fountain is the work of sculptor Josep Campeny Santamaria (1858-1922). It features a base of Montjuïc stone serving as a basin, topped by a bronze sculpture of a child holding a frog, from which the water flows. Created in a naturalist style, the piece is notable for its anatomical realism and expressive dynamism. Campeny, born in Igualada, produced many anecdotal works like this fountain, as well as commemorative monuments, portraits, and religious sculptures.
