Fonts Bessones

Located on the upper terrace of Plaça de Catalunya, the Fonts Bessones are two ornamental fountains originating from the decorative program of the 1929 International Exhibition. Today, they feature shows combining light, water, and music, the latter synchronized through a mobile system. The ensemble consists of two symmetrical basins and technical facilities located beneath the square, accessible from the transport hub. Built in 1959, these fountains were designed by the architect Espiau Seoane, who at the time was head of Barcelona City Council’s Water Games and Lighting Service.
