Sant Antoni Library– Joan Oliver

The Sant Antoni – Joan Oliver Library, located at Comte Borrell 48, occupies the former site of the Fèlix Tardà candy factory, in the heart of the redeveloped Jardins Càndida Pérez block. Designed by the RCR Arquitectes studio (Rafael Aranda, Carme Pigem, Ramon Vilalta) and inaugurated in 2007, the renovation transformed the area into a modern complex that includes a library, a senior residence, and a children’s playground. The building, clad in metal slats and featuring a contemporary design, blends harmoniously into the urban fabric while preserving the original volume of the old factory. A raised glass structure serves as the main entrance to the block and as the backdrop to the park.
