Nelson Mandela Footbridge

Inaugurated in 2014, the Nelson Mandela Footbridge is an elegant pedestrian bridge connecting the Allée des Tamaris to the Nouveau Monde breakwater in the Minimes district. About 150 meters long, it is part of the coastal development and provides an easy link between the Old Port and the marina. Accessible on foot or by bike, it offers a pleasant walk above the water with open views over the harbour entrance and surrounding boats. Named in tribute to Nelson Mandela, it symbolizes freedom and equality. It is a perfect spot to enjoy sea air and admire beautiful sunsets.
