Barceloneta Park

The Barceloneta Park, inaugurated in 1996 and designed by Jordi Henrich and Olga Tarrasó, is a large green space linking the Vila Olímpica with the Barceloneta neighborhood. Built on the former site of the Catalana de Gas factory, it preserves industrial remains such as the modernist water tower (1905) and the structure of a gas holder, now integrated into the landscape. The park features lawns, playgrounds, picnic areas, pétanque courts and a football field. Its curved lines open towards the sea, creating a fluid and peaceful atmosphere. It is also home to La Fàbrica del Sol, a sustainability resource center. Combining history, leisure and nature, it has become one of the area’s key green lungs.
