Font del Trinxa — The Eixample Ragamuffin

One of three popular-genre fountains produced by Josep Campeny for Barcelona City Hall, this example dates from 1911 and was cast at the Morales foundry. Like its counterparts — the Font de la Granota and the Font del Noi amb Càntir — it features an ordinary figure: a young boy, barefoot and poorly clothed, clambering onto the fountain and playing with the water.
