Monolith to the Radio Nacional Charity Campaign

The monolith in homage to the Radio Nacional Charity Campaign, inaugurated in 1970 in Ciutadella Park, is a simple marble stele bearing the inscription: “The children of Barcelona to the Radio Nacional charity campaign, 1970”. It commemorates the solidarity initiative launched in the 1950s by broadcasters Dalmau and Vinyes, who raised funds for sick and underprivileged children through a popular radio programme. The monument project was promoted by the Petritxol Street Neighbours’ Association, and its inauguration was attended by actress Mary Santpere.
