Monument als Castellers

The castells are a Catalan tradition dating back to the 17th century, consisting of building spectacular human towers. Originating from an old Valencian dance, they were first documented in 1770 in L’Arboç, and today they are a powerful symbol of Catalan culture. Near the Plaça Sant Jaume, in Plaça Sant Miquel, stands a monument dedicated to the castellers, created in 2012 by Antoni Llena i Font. This stainless-steel sculpture, 30 meters high and pyramid-shaped, evokes a castell rising towards the sky.
