Passatge del Crèdit

Located in the Ciutat Vella district, the Passatge del Crèdit was built between 1875 and 1879 by architect Magí Rius i Mulet. It links Carrer Ferran and Baixada de Sant Miquel through two monumental stone arch entrances. The entrance from Carrer Ferran stands out for its rich decoration: pilasters carved with vegetal and geometric motifs, allegorical busts of Mercury and America, and the metallic inscription “Pasaje del Crédito.” This ensemble gives the passage a monumental and elegant character, typical of 19th-century Barcelona.
