W Barcelona

The W Barcelona Hotel, better known as the Sail Hotel due to its sail-like shape, is a 26-story skyscraper inaugurated in 2010. Designed by Catalan architect Ricardo Bofill, it stands on Rosa dels Vents Square, at the entrance of the port, right by the sea. A symbol of contemporary architecture in Barcelona, its glass façade reflects the sea and the sky, giving the impression of a sail filled with wind. This bold design earned it the 2010 Villégiature Award for the best hotel exterior architecture in Europe. The hotel, which initially sparked controversy in the Barceloneta neighborhood, is today an icon of Barcelona’s waterfront, alongside the Torre Agbar and the Hotel Arts. With 473 rooms and suites, it also features a spa, several pools, a fitness center, a gourmet restaurant with stunning coastal views, a rooftop bar, and large conference facilities. With its 5 stars, prime location, and iconic silhouette, W Barcelona has become a true must-see landmark of the city, blending luxury, innovation, and breathtaking views of the Mediterranean.
