Documented as early as 1349, Palau Meca passed through many illustrious hands before taking its definitive name: acquired by Jaume Cavaller in the 14th century, it passed to the Desplà, the Cervelló, and in 1459 to Gabriel de Caçador, whose daughter Isabel married Galceran Meca, governor and lord of Vergós. The Meca family retained it throughout the 16th century. In 1719, the Milans family purchased the building and had it entirely remodelled in the Baroque style of the time, following damage suffered during the War of Spanish Succession. The complex is organised around a courtyard accessed through a segmental-arch vestibule. A monumental open-air staircase at its centre leads to the noble floor, whose rooms feature polychrome coffered ceilings. The façade displays moulded-slab balconies and a broad arched portal. Now part of the Museu Picasso.
